TV presenter and actress Svetlana Borovskaya became UNAIDS national Goodwill Ambassador for Belarus in November 2015. In her role, Ms Borovskaya champions the 90–90–90 targets, whereby, by 2020, 90% of people living with HIV know their HIV status, 90% of people who know their HIV-positive status are accessing treatment and 90% of people on treatment have suppressed viral loads.
With her wide media contacts, Ms Borovskaya’s promotes and raises awareness about key messages, such as voluntary HIV testing and harm reduction. A focus of her work is supporting women living with HIV in prison and helping to ensure that they can adhere to HIV treatment and integrate into society after release.
